Panoramic x-ray

  • A panoramic x-ray, also known as panoramic radiographic, is a type of dental x-ray used to examine and identify oral health issues. It captures the full mouth in a single image. With the help of a panoramic x-ray, the dentist can have a look at the upper and lower jaws, teeth and surrounding tissues and structures.

Panoramic X-Ray at Heart Beat Medical Center

  • The patient will be asked to position themselves in the centre of the x-ray unit. A technician will be there to guide them and secure their head. Then, a bite blocker is placed in their mouth. This ensures proper alignment of their teeth. The purpose of proper alignment is to get a clear image.Once the patient has positioned themselves properly, they are asked to stay still. A rotating arm travels around their hand and takes the images. The entire process is very quick and hardly takes a minute.
